Its flashing lights and pulsed sounds supposedly assist the brain in reaching Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta states, which supposedly makes its easy to learn things by making the mind more suggestible. The Nova Pro is billed as a "Mind Supercharger" and sells for $359.00 with TruWhite Glasses. (It is $299 with red or green glasses, but we are told that the difference between the Truwhite and these other glasses "is truly awesome.")

The promotion for this so-called mind supercharger begins with the lie that "It is well known that the Alpha and Theta states of consciousness are the optimum mental states to receive and assimilate any positive affirmations or suggestions." This misconception is widely held among New Age rapid cyclers. There is no evidence that the brain is more insightful or productive while producing alpha waves. If you want to learn something, you might want your brain to be producing beta waves, but you are not likely to learn much unless you are engaging in a mental activity a bit more profound than being stimulated by light flashes and sound bits.

According to its promoters, however, "the NOVA opens a window to the mind that can be utilized to empower your mental programming with the keys to prosperity, success and personal spiritual growth."
