The only thing that changes are the position of the lines.
So, why does the patient say she feels better and why does the good doctor think she's (a) adjusting the atlas without touching the patient and (b) relieving back and leg pain by cracking her own wrist over the neck of the patient?
placebo effect? magical thinking? subjective validation? pragmatic fallacy? confirmation bias? self-deception? regressive fallacy?
